The Kedah MB’s ‘ghost’ building?

Kedah Agro Plantations's head office was last seen used more than two years ago, operated by its managing director Mohd Muslim Othman.
GEORGE TOWN: “Has the Kedah Agro Plantations Sdn Bhd’s three-storey head office in Sungai Petani become a ghost building owned by a Menteri Besar state corporation?” asked former PKR Kedah secretary Zamil Ibrahim here.
He alleged that the building, which was bought and renovated for nearly RM1 million under the current PAS-helmed Pakatan Rakyat state government, had been idle for over two years.
He said the building was last seen used more than two years ago as Kedah Agro Plantations head office operated by its managing director Mohd Muslim Othman.
He criticised the state government of wasting public funds by not utilising the costly building in Bandar Puteri Jaya to the people’s benefits.
Since the building owner is Perbadanan Menteri Besar Kedah, he said the onus was on Menteri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak to “clear the air once and for all on the issue”.
Zamil is also curious to know whether the company, a subsidiary of state government-linked company Kedah Agro Holdings Group, was still operative and if so, where was its new head office and who were its new directors.
He urged Azizan to explain the whereabouts of the company’s former board of directors, especially Muslim, since the building was “abandoned”.
“The menteri besar surely is not going to say that Muslim and other directors have all gone missing,” said Zamil, who was also the former Kita Kedah chief.
