'Asset' Nazri challenges 'roadside' critic to face him

Ever cavalier, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz today challenged Jaringan Melayu Muda (JMM) president , who said the former is a liability to Umno, to contest against him in the general election.

"I don't know who the hell this is. Who is this? He is a roadside politician. I'd be worried if the Umno president, deputy president or secretary-general make such comments, then probably I'd have to worry.

NONE"But if (it comes from) a roadside politician from a roadside organisation, I don't need to answer," he said, also referring to Azwanddin (left) as a frog for having left PKR.

Azwanddin leads a right wing Malay rights organisation which has continuously attacked human rights group Suaram, Malaysiakini and the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.

Brushing off the Azwanddin’s claim, which sprouted after PKR exposed that his son is driving a luxury car belonging to controversial businessman Michael Chia, Nazri said the attacks only show that he is an "asset" to Umno.

"If I'm just an MP or member of Umno, ordinary MP or not important to Umno, you think they will attack me? So that alone means I'm an asset...not a liability.

"I'll invite him (Azwanddin) to contest in Padang Renggas, we will never know if I'm a liability or not unless we go for election...be a man, contest (against) me and let the rakyat decide," he said.

'Rafizi doesn't know the legal system'

Nazri had, in the same stroke, also slammed PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli for attacking him over the luxury car issue before even making a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

"He blows the trumpet first, and when I said, 'make a report', then only he goes to the report. So he confirms it," he said.

The de facto law minister also said Rafizi does not know the legal system, and this is evident when the latter challenged Mohd Nazri to take him to court.

NONE"The accuser must show proof. I am the victim. Why should I take him to court? He should take me to court," he said.

Rafizi (right) last week accused Nazri of conflict of interest after exposing that the latter’s son, Nedim, is driving a Hummer SUV costing close to half a million ringgit, which belongs to Chia.

Nazri had in October told Parliament that Chia has been cleared of corruption and that the RM40 million he allegedly tried to bring in Malaysia from Hong Kong is a donation for Sabah Umno.
